The 24' power cord is retractable which deletes the need to manually wind up the cord after each use. There are 7 height adjustments, headlight, and an air flow indicator that signals when the dirt cup is full and the filter needs to be cleaned. In addition, this model also includes an on-board tool kit that includes a long crevice wand, a combination dusting brush and upholstery tool and a deluxe stretch hose capable of a 9' extended release for cleaning hard-to-reach areas. Selling for under 0 dollars, this vacuum cleaner seems like a good value, especially with an included 1-year warranty.

The Hoover Elite Rewind Upright Bagless U5507900 is an impressive-looking machine with a strong-appearing design and a bold cherry-red color. The deluxe furniture guard is a generous wide black band that is attached across the front of the base. The guard is thick and protects baseboards and furniture from scratches. The tool set is included with the vacuum cleaner and stores nicely on the unit for easy access. In addition to the on-board tool kit, a powered pet hair removal tool is included and also stores on the handle. The powerful 12 amp vacuum motor and 15" widepath cleaning combined with the tool kit make this quite a good find at this price point. For the money, this is a fully featured vacuum cleaner with a lot of suction and a well-thought out design.

The Hoover Elite Rewind is equipped with a powered pet hair tool that is really effective on pet hair, especially when it is compared to the equivalent Eureka Vacuum Cleaner. This machine is a better-made unit than those produced by Eureka, particularly Eureka's 4D Pet Fresh vacuum. The Hoover far surpasses the amount of suction provided to the attachment tools, including the pet hair tool, resulting in more hair, dander and other debris ending up in the dirt cup. The nice thing about this particular model of Hoover is that it also has a deluxe hose for 9' of extended reach cleaning. The extra hose length is wonderful for cleaning wall and ceiling fixtures, baseboards, under furniture and on stairs.

The only feature that is really lacking on the Hoover Elite Rewind is self-propulsion, which is a nice thing to have on heavier vacuum cleaners. At around 17 lbs, this machine isn't overly heavy, but it weighs enough that self-propulsion would make a difference if the operator had large amounts of carpeting to cover on a regular basis. One great thing about this unit that does save the operator time is the automatic rewind of the power cord, which does tend to be quite aggressive. It is recommended that caution be used while the cord rewinds due the rapid retreat of the power cord and the prongs at the end on the plug. Without care, it is possible to get walloped by the fast moving plug.

With a HEPA filter, 24' retractable cord, 9'deluxe stretch hose, powered pet hair tool, 15" widepath cleaning, bagless design and other helpful features, the Hoover Elite Rewind is a good value vacuum cleaner at a decent price. There are so many different canine neurological disorders that dogs and puppies can experience it would be almost impossible to cover them all on this page. Having said that we will aim to cover the most common canine neurological disorders, starting with a list compiled below and then going into more detail covering each disorder. Remember that the illnesses listed below do not always display noticeable symptoms until the disease has progressed.

Canine Vestibular Disease - This illness is also a serious issue if it affects your dog (as is any illness). Canine Vestibular disease has very similar symptoms to the symptoms of a stroke.

The main causes of Canine Vestibular disease include congenital factors - this is when it is transmitted to the puppy before it is even born. The most common age for dogs to be affected by this disease is when they are middle aged or older (around 13 years of age).

Another cause of the disease is through tick bites causing a nasty infection known as Rocky Mountain Fever. It can also be caused by lesions affecting (on) the brain. If your dog has recently suffered an ear infection (middle ear infection) this has also been known to cause the disease.

The symptoms of Canine Vestibular disease can include...
Coordination problems - this can include your dog walking around in circles. Watch for problems with your dog's face. The disease is known to cause your dog to have problems being able to control the muscles in his face/head. Watch for sickness in your dog - motion sickness is another symptom of the disease. The nervous system is also affected by the disease sometimes causing a dog's eyes to roll backwards and forwards in the socket - this is called Nystagmus.

Epilepsy - This condition is actually more common in dogs and puppies than you might think. Epilepsy normally starts when your puppy is very young (as early as 2 years of age). Fortunately Epilepsy can be controlled quite well with appropriate medication - so your puppy is quite capable (even with the illness) of living a full and active life.

Your dog will go through three stages when having a seizure including the...
Pre-Ictal Phase - this is just before the seizure starts - you may notice that your dog has sudden behavior changes. Ictal Phase - This is when the seizure starts - your dog's muscles may go into an uncontrollable condition that leaves their legs straight and stiff - your dog may also be paralyzed when suffering the seizure. The seizure may last anywhere from several seconds to a few minutes. Your dog may lose control of his bowels during the seizure and may also salivate. Post-Ictal Phase - This is the period after the seizure has ended.

Degenerative Myelopathy - This disease is also referred to as Chronic Degenerative Radiculomyelopathy. This illness normally affects dogs between the age of 7 years of age and 14 years of age. The main cause of the disease is thought to be due to the sheath that surrounds the neurons in the spinal chord is attacked by dog's immune system which leads to a progressive and degenerative loss of coordination in the back legs (Ataxia) and eventually paralysis. Basically the brain and the back legs stop communicating effectively.

Below are some of the symptoms that you should look out for.
Dogs with this disease will often stand with their back legs very close together with the feet also pointing in different directions due to the lack of coordination. Your dog may appear to stagger when he walks around the House or when outside. You may notice that your dog is actually not capable of walking as the disease progresses - this may leave your dog trying to drag his feet along the floor - causing problems with the paws and nails. As the disease continues to progress your dog's back legs may become completely paralyzed. Balance will be affected. You may notice that your dog is unable to control his bladder and/or bowels. The disease can progress quite quickly (in months) or it can take a few years. Eventually the nerves in the cranium and respiratory system will be affected which will lead to you making the very upsetting decision to have your dog put to sleep. Follow your Vets advice throughout the disease as you don't want your dog to suffer any more than you would want to suffer.

CDS - Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome - This refers to dementia (as dogs can get this degenerative disease too). Always watch for sudden behavior changes in your dog as this is normally a good indication that something untoward may be happening.

The signs and symptoms of CDS can include the following...
Your dog may not respond to you when he is called. Watch for signs of disorientation. Does your dog seem confused and even walk around in circles? Watch for changes in your dog's personality - normally you as the owner will be the first to notice any things that 'just don't seem right' about your beloved pooch. Memory loss is another symptom.

Parkinsons- This is one of those canine neurological disorders that many owners don't realize can actually affect dogs as well as humans with very similar signs and symptoms. This disease is hereditary and will normally affect younger dogs.

Rabies - This disease is one of the more serious illnesses that a dog (or human) can suffer from. The disease is transmitted via saliva and can be fatal. The incubation period for the disease can vary with signs and symptoms of Rabies sometimes taking several months to appear. Due to the fact that most bites which transfer the saliva and disease occur around the head and facial area the disease can affect the brain quite quickly - with incubation being as short as 2-3 weeks.

As previously mentioned the disease is normally transmitted via a bite. The infected saliva carrying the Rabies virus will then travel via the nerves in your dogs body and then directly to the brain. The virus will then return through the nervous system again and start affecting the glands and other organs within your dog's body.

The signs and symptoms of Rabies depend on the form that your dog is infected with as there are two types - Dumb and Furious. Both types will lead to massive personality changes in your dog. If for example your dog is quite aggressive without being infected - after infection he may become affectionate and want to be around humans. If however your dog is quite quiet before infection after he is infected he may become furious, savage and very unpredictable.

Other symptoms can include...
An inability to control the facial muscles with the facial expressions changing. You may notice that your dog is salivating and drooling massively. Alongside the salivating the jaw will be fixed (paralyzed) with the eyes staring in a fixed manner. Dogs with rabies also shy away from bright lights. Do NOT approach a dog if you fear it has Rabies - they are VERY dangerous. Paralysis, coma and death will normally occur approximately 15 days after the first signs and symptoms of the disease have been exhibited.

Acquired Myasthenia Gravis - This nasty disease is classed as a Autoimmune condition (disease) - basically this means that the immune system actually turns on itself and starts attacking it's own immune system. The cause of this disease is due to the neurons and interconnecting muscles being damaged - which will then lead to...
Muscle weakness Tiredness after exercise The muscles in the eyes may also be affected The muscles in the face may become affected which will cause changes to your dog's facial expressions. You may also notice that there are some changes in your dogs voice. Problems with the esophagus can also occur which will then lead to a difficulty in swallowing.

Distemper - This is another particularly nasty disease. Distemper is actually a virus which can be transmitted from dog to dog normally by your dog inhaling particles which have been infected by the discharges from another dog that is carrying the disease. The incubation period for the disease is anywhere between 7-21 days.

Dog Strokes - This is a problem that can cause quite severe behavioral changes in your dog. The symptoms of a stroke can also leave your dog with mobility problems too. There are two types of Strokes - one which is caused by hemorrhaging in the brain and the other which is caused by a blocked artery which blocks blood flow to the brain.

The major symptoms of a stroke in dogs can include the following...
Your dog may find it difficult to balance. You may notice that your dog becomes more tired and seems lethargic. Watch your dog when he eats - by supervising your dog closely you may notice that your dog eats out of one side of the bowl - this a common symptom of a stroke in dogs. You may notice that your dog has difficulty seeing and may even become blind through having a stroke. Try calling your dog - this is important - if you suspect your dog has had a stroke watch for his reaction when he is called. A symptom of suffering a stroke can sometimes lead to dog's turning the wrong way when his name is called. Watch how your dog holds his head - tilting of the head is another symptom of a stroke in dogs. Of course sudden behavior changes should always be explored by the owner to make sure that they are not caused by an undiagnosed illness. Sudden changes in behavior is another symptom of your dog having suffered a stroke.

Every few months it seems that it is time for your child's vaccinations again. There may be some vaccines listed on your child's vaccination record that you do not recognize: Varicella, HepA and IPV. Knowing what these vaccines are and the disease that they fight can help you to understand the need to keep your child's shots current.

Varicella is the same thing as chicken pox. It is caused by an infection of the varicella zoster virus, which cause a fever and an itchy rash. Its symptoms are a red rash that develops into blisters that cover the body. Sometimes an infected person may also develop a fever. This disease can be spread by coughing and sneezing, direct contact, and the virus seeping out of the blisters .Complications from the disease include bacterial infection of the skin, swelling of the brain, and pneumonia. Adults suffer much more severely than children do.

The Varicella vaccine is given in two doses. The first dose should be given when the child is one year old. The second dose can be given anytime between the ages of four and six years old. If a child that has been vaccinated does in contact with someone who has chicken pox, he may still catch it but may only suffer a milder form.

HepA stand for Hepatitis A which like Hepatitis B is a disease of the liver. This disease is spread by the fecal-oral route or by ingesting food and water that contains the virus. There are virtually no symptoms, which is the reason this disease can be so dangerous to young children by causing undetected liver damage.

The HepA vaccine is given in a series of two doses. The first dose should be given to the child when he is one year old. The second dose can be given six months following the first one.

Another vaccination that is on your child vaccination schedule is IPV, which stands for the Inactive Polio Vaccine. This disease is highly infectious and is caused by a virus that attacks the nervous system. While most people associate polio with its crippling affects, in reality less than 1% of all polio cases end in permanent paralysis. Of these, only 5% to 10% die due to the paralysis affecting their respiratory systems. Up to 95% of people who have polio suffer no symptoms at all. A small percent (4-8%) suffer from fever, fatigue, nausea, headache, stiffness in the back and neck, and various other flu-like symptoms.

The Inactive Polio Vaccine is given in four doses. The first dose should be given to the child at the age of two months. The second should be administered at the age of four months. The third dose should be given to the child between the ages of six months and eighteen months. The fourth booster dose should be administered to the child between the ages of four and six years.

The Hepatitis Epidemic

Today, an estimated 5 million Americans are infected with Hepatitis C - and most of them don't know it. That is 1 out of every 50 people.....and some will be people you know. One out of every 10 Veterans is infected, 62% of Vietnam Vets have it. Three people with Hep C die every day, two of them are Veterans.

Hepatitis C is considered an epidemic and is now killing more people than Aids/HIV...30,000 a year and it's going to get much worse. The number of adults seeking liver transplants for hepatitis C infection will skyrocket in the next 20 years. An estimated 10,000 to 30,000 Americans die from this disease each year. Deaths are estimated to increase because of the increasing risk of infection, and the resulting cirrhosis, portal hypertension, thrombocytopenia, bleeding from varices, and liver cancer. Five years ago, 20% of hepatitis C patients were candidates for liver transplantation and today the number has increased to about 50%.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), by the year 2008, the cases of decompensation will increase 279%, liver-related deaths 223% and the need for liver transplantation 528%. Considering that we don't have enough organs now and people die on transplant lists, far too many of those precious lives will be lost. For those fortunate enough to find a donor, the process costs roughly 0,000 during the first 3 months, and can be painful and incapacitating. Add to this the thousands of dollars for anti-rejection drugs and the costs of aftercare more frequent visits to health care facilities. The other option, debilitating and woefully ineffective chemo, runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and more and has success rates in the mere single digits.

Hepatitis C is called the dragon, because it sleeps for many years and one day, suddenly, it wakes up and ends your life (people who got infected 20-30 years ago may just now find out). The Hepatitis C virus is very old and very smart.....it doesn't kill quickly like the old HIV virus or like the Ebola virus. Hepatitis C has chosen to infect the liver. The ONLY organ capable of regeneration. It simmers for many years, keeping its host alive. It is so smart it uses our own immune system against us.

Nobody knows exactly where it came from. During World War II, an unlicensed yellow fever vaccine was released to immunize our troops who were going to the South Pacific. To stabilize the vaccine, scientists used serum from Australian Aboregenese, hoping they were immune to endemic illnesses and that immunity would then be passed to our troops. Years later, it was discovered that 50% of the Aboregenese had Hepatitis B and C. A study done by the Veteran's Administration later PROVED that over 320,000 of our troops were infected. Thousands of them fell ill with hepatitis and hospitalized or quarantined in their barracks. When they came back home, they were encouraged to donate blood. A monster, with the power to mutate, had just been unleashed.

Hepatitis C is transmitted through blood only. That means blood transfusions with contaminated blood before 1992 (because blood was not screened), tatoos, body piercing, needle sticks, IV drugs with contaminated needles, manicures that made you bleed (instruments are not sterilized), sharing razors, toothbrushes, anything that could pass infected blood to your blood. Even doing IV drugs once could have given you the virus or sharing straws with someone that had nasal sores or bleeding.

A mutating virus for which there is no vaccine. It has many strains and substrains. By the time they figure something about it, it's already mutated into something stronger. 70-75% of people have genotype 1, the strain most difficult to treat. 95% of Veterans who have Hep C have genotype 1. The success rate with traditional modern medicine treatment is only about 50% and treatment is a whole year and side effects from the medications are cruel. For Veterans, success rate is only 19%....and sadly, even that treatment is approved for only 11.8% of them.

The Hepatitis C virus causes diabetes (40% of genotype 1 have diabetes), it affects the brain causing depression, it causes lung problems, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, Sjogren's, cardiac problems, skin problems, arthritis, stomach problems, anemia, fatigue, and of course, cirrhosis. After cirrhosis comes DECOMPENSATION. The liver stops working, the skin and sclera become yellow, your belly looks like you're pregnant, you're unable to process protein, you get anemic, confused, the kidneys stop working and many bleed to death.

Many of the people that are infected already have severe liver damage and don't know it....and they are going to be looking at herbal products to treat the symptoms they are having. What many people do not know is that there are at least three excellent inexpensive supplements that can be used for hepatitis. First of all, an aqueous extract of the oleander plant commonly called "oleander soup" made according to the directions in the book "Cancer's Natural Enemy" has had excellent results in treating hepatitis-C.

Secondly, colloidal silver has been used by a great many people who testify that it is second to none in treating hepatitis.
