Reverse Fatty Liver With the Right Diet

Steatosis is the abnormal retention of lipids within a cell and it subsequently leads to a reversible condition called fat liver disease which is the accumulation of fat in the liver. Though the disease is not life threatening, complications may arise if the underlying cause is not resolved. A fat liver may occur in any age group. However, it frequently involves the females more than males.

A fatty liver disease is categorized into two: non-alcoholic and alcoholic fat-so liver. The alcoholic kind is cause by excessive alcohol intake while the non-alcoholic one may be caused by metabolism disorders or obesity. Metabolic disorders may come in the form of diabetes mellitus and obesity. Other factors include drugs like tamoxifen and methotrexate and nutritional status like over nutrition, severe malnutrition and starvation diet.
There are different ways to overcome a fat-so liver. The most appropriate would be adhering to a carefully controlled and well balanced fatty liver disease diet. One good diet for a fatty liver is a diet that promotes weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds per week. For an alcohol related fatty organ, abstinence from alcohol intake is a must.

The diet must be continuously taken even after positive results are observed. All the food groups must be included in the diet. However, certain considerations on the amount of saturated fat, carbohydrates and sugar must be observed. It must be a well balanced diet and should be taken five to six meals daily.

The best food that a fat liver must have is one that is low in saturated fats. Foods that are sweet and those that are rich in carbohydrates must be taken in smaller quantities. Fresh fruits should be eaten instead of sweets but they too need to be controlled. Early detection may reverse the condition with the proper treatment plan. Correction of the underlying cause must be addressed initially then a well balanced fatty organ diet must be carefully initiated. The treatment plan must be carefully planned out and should include the most appropriate foods for a fatty organ as well as the quantities and number of meals per day.
