Silybin Phytosome to Prevent Fibrosis

Regardless of its cause, the progression of liver disease is typically measured by the suppleness, and in turn, the functionality of the liver. Recent studies demonstrate the ability of the milk thistle extract, Silybin Phytosome®, to inhibit the hardening of liver tissue.

Some types of liver disease respond well to prescribed therapy, while others take on a chronic status. In addition to addressing the underlying cause of dysfunction, these chronic liver diseases require vigilance to support liver tissue health. While each disease has a preferred conventional treatment standard, an increasing number of clinicians are predominantly concerned with fibrosis prevention.

HEPATIC

According to the Merck Manual, Fibrosis is an accumulation of fibrous tissue in the liver resulting from an imbalance between production and degradation of the extracellular matrix, and accentuated by the collapse and condensation of preexisting fibers. In more general terms, fibrosis is the hardening of liver tissue, occurring when the liver is impaired and thus, unable to break down fibrous material.

The liver is touted as the most dynamic organ in the body. This title is not only a result of the numerous functions for which it is responsible, but also for its self-restorative capability. The liver is the only organ capable of regenerating parts of itself to repair any sustained damage.

Helping maintain the liver's texture is akin to supporting this organ's health. To prevent or inhibit fibrosis, all individuals with liver disease would benefit from an accelerated regeneration of damaged liver tissue.

In Europe, silymarin, the purified extract of the fruits of S. marianum, and its main constituent, silybin, are used to maintain liver health. Worldwide, milk thistle is, deservedly, one of the most commonly prescribed medicinal plants.

S. marianum is a medicinal plant which has been widely used in traditional European medicine for centuries. Commonly known as milk thistle, St. Mary's thistle and lady's thistle, it is native to southern Europe, southern Russia, Asia Minor and North Africa. It has been naturalized to North and South America.

Literally hundreds of research studies, mostly conducted in Europe, have confirmed the remarkable ability of milk thistle to protect the liver against virtually all types of damage: from accidental exposure to chemical pollutants, toxic side effects of medications and even the self-inflicted damage from overindulgence of rich food and alcohol.

The United States National Library of Medicine has catalogued more than 300 scientific studies of milk thistle and its active compounds in their medicine database.

The active ingredients of milk thistle are not very bioavailable, especially in their purified or standardized forms. This means one would need to ingest large amounts to experience beneficial effects. Not only impractical, it could be quite expensive.

A recent study published in Digestive and Liver Disease, clearly demonstrates the ability of Silybin Phytosome® to inhibit liver fibrosis. This study confirmed Silybin Phytosome's® hepatoprotective abilities by proving it counteracts the progression of liver fibrosis typically seen in chronic liver diseases.

On a molecular level, fibrosis is marked by excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix with collagen. The hepatic stellate cells activate this cumulus. In the referenced study, Silybin Phytosome® reduced hepatic stellate cell activation and proliferation. It also significantly reduced the synthesis and deposition of collagen in liver tissue. The authors of this study concluded that Silybin Phytosome® could inhibit liver fibrosis by reducing the synthesis of collagen and by interfering with excessive accumulation of extracellular material.

Additional evidence of silybin's value in preventing fibrosis is garnered from a 1984 study demonstrating that silybin accelerates the rate of protein synthesis in the liver, leading to faster cell regeneration. A 1997 German study also reported results where silybin reduced the proliferation of hepatic stellate cells by 50 to 75 percent, which again, is highly indicative of its anti-fibrotic effect.

By their very nature, chronic liver diseases are persistent and stubborn to known modern treatments. Chronic liver disease summons our attention to provide every bit of hepatic support possible, until our medical expertise can catch up with us and ameliorate the offending disease. Years of research point to the ability of Silybin Phytosome® to meet this demand, by preventing the damage that liver diseases typically cause.

HEPATIC

Hepatitis

Hepatitis is an inflammatory condition of the liver. Hepa is Latin for "liver" and the English suffix "itis" means inflammation. Hepatitis is characterized by other pathologies such as jaundice, abdominal and gastric discomfort, hepatomegaly, and dark urine (which is a sign of severe acidosis).

What causes hepatitis? Answer: Toxemia! When an organ like the liver becomes overly toxic, it becomes inflamed and the inflammation causes the organ to enlarge.

HEPATIC

The liver is one of the body's five eliminative channels (or six eliminative channels if you're a woman). It is the major filtering organ in the body and performs over 500 functions. And because the liver secretes certain substances, it is also a gland. All toxins are first counteracted or attacked by the liver. The liver does a great job of fighting toxicity until it gets overwhelmed and allows less toxic substances to slip through into the body via the blood while it fights the most deadly toxins in a Divine gesture to save the host body.

Certain toxins such as cigarette smoke, alcohol/beer/wine, pharmaceutical drugs, so-called Vitamin C, illegal drugs (cocaine, heroin, PCP, etc.), birth control pills, car exhaust and fumes, carbon monoxide, household cleaning supplies chemicals, and cosmetic and hygiene product chemicals greatly sabotage the health of the liver. These things make the liver work harder and overtime.

And let's not forget about the toxins from the SAD (Standard American Diet). Meats are heavily saturated with toxins including cancer causing sodium nitrate and nitrites, synthetic female hormones, and chemical dyes. Dairy products contain cow feces and synthetic female hormones.

Meat (slaughtered animal flesh), dairy (cow snot/mucus/pus), and starch (stiffening agent) create acids that cause inflammation throughout the body and which in turn causes the excess production of mucus in the body.

The liver is the body's first line of defense. This is why it is imperative that the liver remain healthy. You cannot live and experience optimal health without a clean and well functioning liver. In fact, if you remove the letter "R" from the word "liver", what new word do you now have? Answer: L-I-V-E!!!

Hepatitis is nothing but a man-made medical term to describe a problem of the liver. And nowadays, there are variations of this disease with alphabets attached to the ending of the word, such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C, all of which are alleged viruses. And what does the word "virus" really mean? Answer: poison! So to Djehuty, hepatitis is nothing but a joke, for I know that hepatitis means that there is mucus obstructing the liver and at the same time there is plethora of toxins saturated in the liver. In a nutshell, this is what hepatitis is.

And God forbid a person is that naïve or ignorant to accept a hepatitis vaccine shot in order to allegedly help fight hepatitis because the hepatitis vaccine itself is laced with toxins or poisons. Therefore, a hepatitis vaccination or inoculation defeats the whole purpose.

It is also important that I mention that a toxic liver can play a role in depression (bipolar disorder) if not outright be the cause of depression. Ever heard of the term "melancholy"? Melancholy is two words: "melan" and "choly." Melan = "black" and "choly" = bile. Melancholy means black bile. Bile is originally green and very alkaline and is produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder and released into the digestive tract to neutralize acids. However, black bile is acidic and is stored in the Fourth Brain of the body which is located at the Third Chakra (sometimes referred to as the Fourth Chakra) called the Solar Plexus located at the belly above the belly button (navel). The Fourth Brain (Solar Plexus) is your "feeling" brain, which explains that "gut" feeling or "butterflies in the stomach" sensation/feeling you experience from time to time. If the Fourth Brain is impaired, so are the other three brains located in the head where the nervous system headquarters is located. The human body is truly interconnected and wholistic.

An important note on bile - dark-green colored stools/feces sunk at the bottom of the toilet is not a good or healthy sign. People suffering from depression are very acidic (toxic) individuals.

Liver transplants? Why you would have to be out of your mind to even consider such process and operation. How is removing one person's toxic liver and giving it to another person going to help a person? Outright insanity! Removing one toxic liver and then replacing it with another toxic liver! Sheer medical insanity! Poor former NFL player and Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton! He didn't have to die. Payton allegedly died of a unique liver disease. However, in all actuality, Payton died of ignorance to the truth (there's healing for every disease known to man).

Liver transplanting is big business nowadays. They are totally unnecessary when you have knowledge of the voluminous amounts of natural hepatic (pertaining to the liver) herbs in Nature.

Liver transplanting is big business nowadays. They are totally unnecessary when you have knowledge of the voluminous amounts of natural hepatic (pertaining to the liver) herbs in Nature.

Healing hepatitis naturally

Many individuals are consuming synthetic Vitamin C today which provides absolutely NO Vitamin C or other nutrients. In fact, most Vitamin C sold commercially and conventionally is nothing but ascorbic acid made in a laboratory and consuming this particular Vitamin C will greatly toxify and tax your liver. Real Vitamin C is found in Nature (Rose Hip seeds, Hibiscus flower, Acerola cherry, Camu fruit, Alma fruit, Capsicum fruit, etc.).

Question: if your Vitamin C is derived from Ascorbic Acid, where is the Ascorbic Acid derived from? God does not make pure mono-structured ascorbic acid. But man does and here lies your problem.

Coffee enema

The coffee enema works wonders for the liver. It can be performed once a month. Coffee (organic, of course) makes the liver dump off toxins like a dump trunk. This process is one of the best healing methods for a toxic liver. Worried about caffeine? Well, when coffee is administered through the rectum, caffeine is not absorbed in the body. Caffeine is only absorbed when coffee is drunk via the mouth. Singer Janet Jackson performs coffee enemas. Janet knows something very beneficial about coffee enemas. Also, coffee enemas are great for overcoming hangovers and migraine headaches.

Castor oil pack

The castor oil pack process is one of my favorite liver cleansing methods. You apply castor oil on your liver (externally, of course) and then put a piece of plastic over it (gets very sticky) and then you place a hot pack over it and let it sit for about two (2) hours. This process is performed lying down and under a towel or some newspaper as the oil will slide down on the side of the body. The castor oil pack process can also be performed monthly or every 3-4 months.

Activated Charcoal (Carbon)

Carbon or Activated Charcoal is the best substance on Planet Earth that we have right now that cleanses the body in general and the liver in particular of toxins. Carbon is some very powerful stuff! It is very alkaline and neutralizes toxins, heavy metals, and harmful gases 2,000 times its own weight. This is why we include Carbon in our Full Body Detoxification Kit. The Kit would be incomplete without it.

Olive and Castor Oil

Olive oil lubricates and purifies the liver and helps dissolve hardened calculi (stones) such as kidney, bladder, and gallstones. A tablespoon of olive oil can be consumed daily or as needed. Castor oil performs the same function as olive oil but is also anthelmintic (anti-parasitic) in nature as castor oil suffocates worms and parasite in the colon and liver.

Fasting

Fasting is also a good choice and method for cleansing the liver. Fasting purifies the bloodstream which in turn purifies all the organs in the body, especially the eliminative organs (colon, liver, kidneys, lungs and skin).

In closing, the liver is an organ that is naturally saturated with toxins due to the voluminous amounts of poison/toxins we consume daily. The liver always contains filth. Mothers, do you understand now why children don't or didn't like eating liver for dinner? As a little boy, I hated eating liver and really never ate it. When you eat an animal's liver, you're eating the most toxic part of the animal.

And beware of all these liver products on the market at health food stores. My little brother was taking some liver cleansing pills back in the mid 1990s that were derived from bovine (cow, ox). He didn't have a clue until I read the bottle. The major ingredient of this particular liver product was "bovine liver." Now how can consuming a cow's liver clean your human liver? Sheer insanity and asininity! And my little brother paid more than dollars for that crap.

There are plenty of natural things and processes that can help a person to heal 100% from hepatitis, mainly herbs. My good friend Bro. Sheik Mamoud Bey told me a few months ago how a good friend of his who had hepatitis whom he gave a Full Body Detox to and who completed the three week process and regimen and went back to the doctor for a checkup and was told by the doctor that his hepatitis was gone. I have helped many people with so-called hepatitis with either the Full Body Detox or our Liver-Gallbladder-Spleen formula and Vitamin C Combo formula. So I'm saying on the record and to the American public that hepatitis (A, B, and C) is easy to be healed from with herbs and diet modification.

Do you know why actor/comedian George Burns could smoke cigars and drink alcohol and still live to be 100 years of age? Answer: because in addition to laughing (which is great medicine), he cleaned his liver and colon almost every single weekend with liver cleansing herbs and by performing high colonics (now called "colonics") and enemas. The man was smart (in this respect) and knew something the average person didn't know. However, what George Burns knew and applied, I just divulged in this brief article.

Reverse Fatty Liver With the Right Diet

Steatosis is the abnormal retention of lipids within a cell and it subsequently leads to a reversible condition called fat liver disease which is the accumulation of fat in the liver. Though the disease is not life threatening, complications may arise if the underlying cause is not resolved. A fat liver may occur in any age group. However, it frequently involves the females more than males.

A fatty liver disease is categorized into two: non-alcoholic and alcoholic fat-so liver. The alcoholic kind is cause by excessive alcohol intake while the non-alcoholic one may be caused by metabolism disorders or obesity. Metabolic disorders may come in the form of diabetes mellitus and obesity. Other factors include drugs like tamoxifen and methotrexate and nutritional status like over nutrition, severe malnutrition and starvation diet.
There are different ways to overcome a fat-so liver. The most appropriate would be adhering to a carefully controlled and well balanced fatty liver disease diet. One good diet for a fatty liver is a diet that promotes weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds per week. For an alcohol related fatty organ, abstinence from alcohol intake is a must.

STEATOSIS

The diet must be continuously taken even after positive results are observed. All the food groups must be included in the diet. However, certain considerations on the amount of saturated fat, carbohydrates and sugar must be observed. It must be a well balanced diet and should be taken five to six meals daily.

The best food that a fat liver must have is one that is low in saturated fats. Foods that are sweet and those that are rich in carbohydrates must be taken in smaller quantities. Fresh fruits should be eaten instead of sweets but they too need to be controlled. Early detection may reverse the condition with the proper treatment plan. Correction of the underlying cause must be addressed initially then a well balanced fatty organ diet must be carefully initiated. The treatment plan must be carefully planned out and should include the most appropriate foods for a fatty organ as well as the quantities and number of meals per day.

NSAIDs For Canine Osteoarthritis Prove Effective But Not Without Major Risks

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the standard form of treatment for dogs suffering from osteoarthritis. For years, NSAIDs have been prescribed to dogs with this ailment because of their effectiveness in dealing with joint pain.

Over the years, however, more and more studies are emerging that NSAIDs may not be the best treatment for canine osteoarthritis after all. NSAIDs do work by blocking the formation of chemicals in a dogs body which cause inflammation of the joints and joint pain in the affected area. Just like in any disease, the best form of treatment for osteoarthritis should be something that works to repair the source of the disease itself, in this case, degenerating cartilage in the joints. NSAIDs cannot do that. All it can do is to try to stop the inflammation and control the pain. Common names of pain killers used in treatment are Rymadol, Tramadol, and Deramaxx. But take a look at these side effects direct from the Deramaxx web site:

HEPATIC

Vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, melena, inappetence, hematemesis, hematochezia, weight loss, nausea, gastrointestinal ulceration, gastrointestinal perforation, salivation. Hematological: Anemia, thrombocytopenia. Hepatic: Hepatic enzyme elevations, decreased or increased total protein and globulin, decreased albumin, decreased BUN, hyperbilirubinemia, icterus, ascites, pancreatitis. Neurological: Lethargy, weakness, seizure, ataxia, tremor, nystagmus, mydriasis. Sensory: Vestibular signs, glazed eyes, uveitis. Behavioral: Aggression, apprehension. Urinary: Azotemia, polydipsia, polyuria, hematuria, low specific gravity, urinary incontinence, urinary tract infection, renal failure. Cardiovascular: Bradycardia. Respiratory: Tachypnea, coughing. Dermatological/Immunological: Fever, edema, facial/muzzle edema, pruritis, urticaria, moist dermatitis, erythema, dermal ulceration/necrosis.

Half of these symptoms, I have no idea what they are, but I am certain they are of a detrimental nature to the happiness of your pet. Moreover, studies are also stating that NSAIDs may pose even more serious side effects that can lead to permanent damage in dogs. Such damages include ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver damage and kidney damage which can lead to death. While we will do anything to help our pets feel happy and pain free, this path of powerful drugs for treatment may be more than we bargained for.

Because of these side effects, more dog owners and more veterinarians are looking for alternatives to NSAIDs to help in dealing with canine osteoarthritis. The one that stands out as most effective and with few, if any, side effects, are natural supplements with glucosamine and chondroitin. Studies have concluded that the combination of these two supplements effectively control joint pain better than NSAIDs. Glucosamine treats osteoarthritis right at its source, the degenerated cartilage tissue in the dogs joints. Glucosamine is a building block of cartilage tissue and also acts as a catalyst to the formation of new cartilage tissue. In effect, glucosamine helps treat osteoarthritis by assisting in the repair of damaged and degenerated cartilage tissue.

As for chondroitin, chondroitin works by keeping harmful enzymes that cause inflammation away from the joints. It also aids in the tasks to be done by glucosamine by attracting liquids that will provide lubrication to the joints.

Glucosamine and chondroitin, as clearly stated above, treat osteoarthritis by dealing with the source of the ailment. Pain relief comes from healing, not masking pain.

Do glucosamine and chondroitin display side effects on the same degree as those of NSAIDs? The answer is that none are discovered yet, and most likely, there will be few and not nearly as severe as the side effects of NSAIDs. Glucosamine and chondroitin are natural compounds both found naturally in the dogs body.

Piroplasmosis: Protect Your Dog Well

Piroplasmosis is one of the diseases, sometimes fatal, most frequently seen in dogs. This disease, which destroys the red cells, is due to a parasite of the blood, transmitted by a tick bite. The treatment is effective on condition it is set up in time, but the complications can be serious.

Which are the symptoms which one can observe?

HEPATIC

The dog is laid low, it refuses to take nourishment, vomits and has a strong fever. Its urine takes on an abnormal colouring. The symptoms are not always easy to detect and it is advisable to consult a veterinary surgeon in case of doubts.

How is piroplasmosis transmitted?

Only ticks can transmit this disease. In order to be able to drink the blood of the dog, the tick injects an anticoagulant saliva, which contains the parasites of piroplasmosis. Once in the blood these penetrate in the red cells, multiply there, and make them burst. A dog affected by piroplasmosis is not contagious, to other dogs, to other animals, or to man.

What is the treatment for piroplasmosis?

The treatment is very effective assuming it beings rather quickly.

It is advisable to monitor the appearance of the symptoms well.

According to the stage of evolution of the disease, the veterinary surgeon will set up a treatment program in the form of injections which make it possible to destroy the parasite and of infusion, intended to rehydrate the animal and to fight against the hepatic and renal complications.

The animal will be also transfused to compensate for the lack of red globules.

How to prevent piroplasmosis?

wo techniques exist. First there are pesticides, which is the surest way to etablish real prevention. The product must destroy the tick before it has time to puncture the skin. It is thus necessary that it is poisoned in contact with the dogs coat, in a few minutes. The pesticides are in the shape of collars, pulverizers or pipettes.

The other method is that of vaccination. There is a vaccine which protects from piroplasmosis, but it is not 100% effective and appears very expensive.

Cleansing Through A Detox Liver Diet

Upon learning that I had fatty liver disease a few years back, I was determined to find a way on how I could cure my sickness and came upon detox liver diet. Fatty hepatic stenosis disease is due to excessive fat accumulation in the liver (a fat called triglycerides), so a healthy detox hepatic diet is advisable.

Detox liver meal plan has been becoming more and more popular these days. Simply, a detox liver meal plan is all about taking the right food to detoxify the fat accumulated in the liver. I tried to learn more about fatty hepatic stenosis disease and possible detox liver meal plans that I can follow.

HEPATIC

Recently, a friend of mine who is a nurse recommended that I read up "Eliminating Hepatic Fat: The Fatty Liver Diet Guide and Factbook" by Nurse Dorothy Spencer. In her book, she gave an easy-to-learn introduction on fatty hepatic stenosis disease - its causes, symptoms, and treatment. One of her recommendations is to follow a diet that can help improve the liver's function. It's much like a detox hepatic meal strategies if you ask me.

In the detox hepatic meal strategies, which you can read up about in Chapters 8 to 11, I learned about the essential vitamins and minerals and the important food groups when undergoing a detox hepatic meal strategies. Nurse Dorothy recommended the 1 Week Diet Strategy and she suggested a lot of recipes that helped me in my detox hepatic meal strategies. Chapter 11 of the e-book says that a proper detox liver diet should include food with low fat content (no saturated fat), high fiber, and complex carbohydrates.

When I had to go to the hospital for my routine check-up, I noticed that I was feeling quite better. After my tests, I learned that my conditions were getting better. It was probably the detox liver diet that I had been undergoing.

Alcoholic Liver Disease

Alcoholic liver disease occurs due to an acute or chronic inflammation of the liver due to alcohol abuse. This disease usually occurs after a prolonged use of alcohol. In the United States 10% of men and 3% of women suffer from problems related to alcoholic consumption.

The occurrence of the disease depends on the amount of alcohol consumed and the duration it is consumed in. The greater the duration and greater the amount leads to a greater chance for liver disease to occur.

STEATOSIS

Other factors include the toxicity of ethanol to the liver, susceptibility to the disease, and genetic factors. Studies have shown that women may be more susceptible than men. The disease starts as inflammation (hepatitis) and progresses to fatty liver and cirrhosis. Alcoholism generally leads to three pathologically different liver diseases. They are the fatty liver ( Steatosis), hepatitis and cirrhosis.

The disease will not show any symptoms until it advances. Complications that arise are alcoholic encephalopathy and portal hypertension.

The symptoms include loss of appetite, nausea, jaundice, abdominal pain, fever, ascites, weight gain, mental confusion, excessive thirst, dry mouth and fatigue.

Other symptoms are vomiting blood, bloody bowel movements, paleness, fainting, lethargic movement, fluctuating mood, impaired judgement and confusion.

Liver function tests and liver biopsy are the common tests done to detect the disease. Treatment includes the discontinuation of alcoholic use, providing high calorie, high carbohydrate diet to break down the protein present in the patient's body. Counseling and rehabilitaion may prove necessary for the patients.

Liver transplants become necessary if the situation advances to cirrhosis. Once the patient becomes medically stable, there is a need to abstain from drinking. Although stopping drinking may result in the reversal of fatty liver and hepatitis, liver cirrhosis may continue, but progressive liver deterioration can be checked.
