Can I Reverse Alli Liver Damage?

Alli causes liver damage. It was all over the news. But is it a reason to stop taking Alli? How do you know you even have your liver damaged? And if you do, is there anything you can do to reverse it?

Actually, Alli rarely causes clinically significant liver damage. It might cause subclinical liver damage that reduces your metabolism, induces diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, but it is not detected on standard liver panels.

Still, despite not being detectable except by biopsy, it doesn't mean it isn't there, and the problems it causes are enough for you to want to reverse it and prevent it from happening again, even if you continue taking Alli.

To find out if you have liver damage your doctor would usually test transaminases. But with subclinical liver damage these don't show any alteration. Instead, you should check for signs and symptoms: do you often feel bloated? Do you have bad breath? Feel sluggish, tired, or down? Do you have difficulty losing weight? Are you obese? Do you have diabetes, high cholesterol, or hypertension? If you answered yes to more than one of these questions, it is likely that you have some degree of steatosis (50% of adults do).

Liver damage is not a disease for life. It can be reversed, but not through the use of drugs.

The first step is changing your diet. The standard recommendation of increasing fruit and vegetable consumption and reduce the intake of fat works wonders with your liver. Not only that, but using this diet, with Alli, and with other liver cleansing strategies will make your weight go away faster than you ever dreamed of.

Second, you want to cleanse your liver. Cleansing your liver is very simple - for a couple days to a week eat only vegetable and fruit juices. And presto, your liver is ready to reverse its disease.

The third step is providing your liver with the signals that make it renew its cells and reverse damage. Those can be made with a few herbs, milk thistle and artichoke being the most important (some studies have even shown that they can reverse cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis and liver cancer).

If you take these steps, you can be sure that your liver is protected. Not only will disease reverse, but you can actually keep taking Alli and rip its weight loss quickening benefits while protecting your liver and enhancing your metabolism.
